The bottom painting shows that there are six goannas and the grey painting tells you there are saltwater oysters. On the top of the painting the waterholes are represented they are called Milmingarrk which is associated with the mythology of the Djang-kawu sisters. Creative ancestors of the Dhuwa Moiety who gave birth to the first generation of human beings.
The design represents part of a series of linked waterholes that the sisters created on their journey. The ceremonial Miny’tji design for Liyagawumirri people depicting the sacred waterholes on Elcho Island.
